Admission as a barrister and solicitor is governed by Section 44 of the Law Practitioners Act 1982 which can be found at www.legislation.govt.nz
If you have a NZ LLB but have not yet completed admission as barrister and solicitor, then the Professional Legal Studies Course is the only additional study you must complete before applying for admission as a barrister and solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand. You can complete this course through the Institute of Professional Legal Studies or the New Zealand College of Law
If you have a NZ LLB degree but have also been admitted in another jurisdiction there will not be usually any advantage to you in applying to have your overseas qualifications assessed, but if in doubt contact the New Zealand Council of Legal Education
If you have been admitted as a barrister, solicitor, advocate or attorney of a superior court in a country other than New Zealand see … Important Changes to the Assessment Process for the applications of overseas admitted practitioners seeking to practise in New Zealand
